Employed by Compass Consulting since 2016, Brian Ott performs as company Senior Cloud Engineer and has helped expand capabilities and objectives through unique projects such as system architecture designs for the Department of Defense, migration to the Azure cloud, and Oracle Solaris administration/ automation support. Brian has been instrumental in shortening the systems development life cycle for Compass and clients by his unique skillset of software development combined with information technology operations. Overall, Brian counts his dedication and passion as the irreplaceable traits of his long-term success.
Brian has been instrumental in shortening the systems development life cycle for Compass and clients by his unique skillset of software development combined with information technology operations.
Brian comes to Compass Consulting with over 15 years of Network Operations experience with firms such as the Fox Network, Tehnocel, and Rapattoni Corporation. In his role at the Fox Network, Brian engineered the nationwide FOX Sports ‘NetApp’ architecture to facilitate file storage/data transfer from on-site trucks to local information center for live television broadcasts using Signiant and Aspera transport technologies. He also provided Windows automation leadership & expertise and helped deploy Ansible automation to reduce Windows/Linux server management overhead across multiple FOX subsidiaries (FX, Fox Sports, and 20th Century).
Due to constant and ongoing HVAC power issues at Technocel, Brian was responsible for virtualizing the company’s entire infrastructure (including setup of replicated cloud-based backups), all while successfully reducing the number of system servers by over 75%. Brian was the primary administration IT support of ERP/MSP system (Sage MAS) and proactively addressed disaster and business requirements by meeting RPO and decreasing RTO objectives to better meet business needs.

Lastly at Rapattoni Corporation, Brian led a Network Operations team and was responsible for the annual profitability and efficiency of company projects and budget. Along with Rapattoni executives, he helped develop IT strategy and was the principle architect of the company network, storage, & virtualized systems. Again with innovative forethought, Brian was responsible for implementing a level of network automation to ease in-house IT support.
